First Workshop Held at SEEU

2014-02-19 13.49.30On February 19th 2014 in the conference room at the premises of South East European University a workshop titled “Web and Mobile accessibility for Blind and visually Impaired People” was held. The workshop in question is part of project activities within the initial grant from the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research in Higher Education (STINT) and was developed in cooperation with Linnaeus University from Sweden and SEE University through the Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies.
The purpose of the workshop was to gather and analyze requirements for the blind and visually impaired regarding their accessibility to digital information. The discussion took place in regard to research opportunities for the use and adoption of assistive technologies for web and mobile devices to facilitate access for this marginalized community in Macedonia and the region. Participants in this workshop were: Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies at SEEU , Linneaus University – Sweden , State University of Tetova, University of Prizren , School for the Blind from Peja, “ Mustafa Kemal Ataturk ” school from Gostivar , as well as non-governmental organizations ” Open the Windows ” and ” Handimak “.
